The music is packed with vivid aural detail: listen for the birds singing, a dog barking, and peasants bagpiping in Spring; thunder and the buzzing of flies in Summer; tipsy peasants dancing and the hunt with horn, dogs, and guns in Autumn; and in Winter hear the chattering teeth, stamping feet, and folk slipping and falling on the ice.
