"The archer Houyi and his wife Chang'e are banished from heaven to earth after Houyi shoots down nine of the Jade Emperor's ten suns. Chang'e is unhappy on earth, so Houyi journeys to the Queen Mother of the West to obtain the elixir of immortality in order that they both may become immortal again.
