A white cat spends his days alone, playing with yarn, watching the birds come and go outside the window. One day, a black kitten joins him, and the white cat takes the small feline under his wing, teaching him how to be a good house cat. The white cat grows old, and goes away--never to return--leaving the black cat alone and sad. But his family soon brings home a small white cat and they cycle of life and love continues.
