After a big storm causes thousands of sea stars to wash up on shore, a young girl devotes her time to returning as many as she can to the ocean. An old man sees her and asks her why she is doing this as she won't be able to save all of them. She agrees that she can't save them all, but at least she can save some. The man is inspired and takes his grandson to go adopt a dog from the dog shelter. This sparks a chain of people to perform acts of kindness all around town. They all learn that a simple act of kindness can make a huge difference.
