A little girl goes through every day, some days good, some bad, always with the one fun solace--she gets to press the button in her family's apartment's elevator. Then, one day, her parents betray her and let her kid brother press the button. Fed up, the girl presses all of the buttons at once and the elevator breaks. The repair man throws out the door button, and the girl rescues it. Taping it up in her room, she presses it, only to find her bedroom door ding open to some place magical.
