When Ichigo Kurosaki was a young boy, he tried to save a girl from drowning and his mother Masaki ran after him to rescue them both. Ichigo passed out and awoke to discover his mother dead and the girl gone. On the anniversary of Masaki's death, the clan visits the cemetery where Ichigo confronts the Grand Fisher, the Hollow that may be responsible for his mother's death.
