Poet David Huntington has built his career on writing meaningless verse, earning him a huge fellowship and the envy of his friends, but his private life is a mess, in thanks to his wild parrot, which seems to drive away every woman he meets, until one day David throws the bird out the window, and then in guilt, follows it around the world.
