Descended from a long line of indigenous Mexican witches, Althalia Cabrera studies magic under the tutelage of her abuela, Isadora, and helps her run a Portland occult museum. Though she's grown in her understanding and practice of witchcraft, she feels ill-prepared when she must face dark forces from her family's past that emerge and deal a tragic blow. With help from her two friends--Dana a werecoyote, and Chuey a chupacabra--Althalia tries to follow the path set out for her by Isadora.
