Winifred has lived in the apartment above the cemetery office with her father, who works in the crematorium, all her life, but she doesn't mind as it means she gets to be close to her mother's grave. When her habit of wandering the graveyard at all hours starts a rumor that Winterson Cemetery might be haunted, she sees it as an opportunity to save her father's job and the only home she's ever known. She gets her con-artist cousin to help her keep up the charade, but things get complicated when her father starts to think that his wife has come back from the grave and Phil, an actual ghost of a teen girl who lived and died in the ravine next to the cemetery, appears and Winifred finds herself falling for her.
